Based in Athens, GA, I am an oil and mixed media painter whose work explores the emotional terrain where cinematic storytelling and real life collide. Drawing from film stills, personal archives, and found media, my paintings examine themes of love, identity, vulnerability, and human connection. Through expressive stylization and deliberate mark-making, I blur the line between fiction and reality—inviting viewers into suspended, emotionally charged spaces that feel both dreamlike and achingly familiar. My goal is to capture fleeting moments that echo the fragile beauty of everyday life.

Currently pursuing my MFA in Painting at SCAD, my practice has deepened through both academic and personal growth. But my relationship with art started long before formal training. As a child, I gravitated toward solitary creative activities—reading, drawing, painting, pottery, and dance—while the pressures of more traditional pastimes like team sports felt foreign and overwhelming. Despite this early interest in the arts, my passion dimmed in high school, only to be unexpectedly reignited during a painting class I took on a whim. That experience, and the encouragement of my teacher, reshaped everything I thought I knew about myself. I realized not only that I could paint—but that I had to.

My path hasn’t always been clear. I began college unsure of what I wanted from life, struggling with mental health challenges and a persistent sense of uncertainty. Choosing to attend the University of Alabama was unexpected for both myself and those who knew me, but it became the setting for one of the most formative chapters of my life. Art was the constant I clung to when everything else felt unstable. It was my outlet, my refuge, and ultimately my purpose.

I earned my BFA in painting and printmaking with a minor in art history from the University of Alabama in 2022. Though the environment was often difficult, it shaped me into the artist I am today—resilient, curious, and committed to storytelling through painting. My work continues to evolve, but at its core, it’s always been about capturing the quiet, powerful moments that define what it means to be human.
