Artist Statement

Using oil paint alongside mixed media elements—such as tissue paper, torn book pages, and molding paste—I create textured, layered works that explore the intersection of film and real life. My art delves into themes of love, relationships, identity, and vulnerability, drawing inspiration from classic romantic comedies like My Best Friend’s Wedding, Notting Hill, When Harry Met Sally, and Pretty Woman. These films act as both muse and metaphor, offering a nostalgic lens through which I examine the intricacies of human connection.

Much like rewatching a favorite movie for the comfort of its predictability—knowing every outcome, every line of dialogue—my work invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences with love and loss. It’s in that familiarity, that repetition, that we often find new meaning or healing, seeing our past heartbreaks and joys with fresh eyes.
